Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Player the Athlete

The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening confirming they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and were in contact with the league office.

The team omitted the name of the player specifically in their announcement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Claims Shared on Social Media

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice directly, posted a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round.
