'Living a Nightmare': Relatives of Unaccounted For Teenagers Await Answers After Ski Resort Inferno

Teenage Swiss national a young man from Switzerland is one of those unaccounted for.

The families of teens unaccounted for after a devastating blaze at a venue in a Switzerland's winter destination are enduring an excruciating wait for official news and appealing for any details about their family members online.

The fire devastated the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of the first day of the year. Confirmed images depict the ceiling being engulfed in flames as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Emergency services have indicated that it could take an extended period to formally name the fatalities of the fire, which claimed the lives of numerous partygoers and hurt another over a hundred. A spokesperson noted on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been identified, with work ongoing to name the remaining few.

In the waiting period, families and friends have been using the internet to request clues about their loved ones who were at the bar that fateful night.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Missing

The fate of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, 16, are not yet determined, according to an heartfelt request from his parent.

Young athlete Emanuele Galeppini, sixteen, was last heard from around the turn of the new year on New Year's Eve, his father said.

Among them is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old promising athlete, originally from Genoa but now living in the UAE.

The Italian Golf Federation has released a tribute that he is no longer with us, without mentioning the fire, honoring a "young athlete who represented passion and true sportsmanship."

His father, is quoted as saying that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around midnight. An official spokesperson has stated that a formal confirmation of his death is still pending.

Other Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is also unaccounted for. His parent explained that he had been on holiday but had ventured out with a group and found himself at the bar.

"A companion told me they ran away after the fire erupted and that he had his phone with him, but then at a certain point he lost sight of him," she explained, adding he had been wearing a distinctive piece of jewelry.

One of his teachers stated, "I've always been struck by his kindness and positive demeanor, combined with great maturity. Every time ask if get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Swiss and Greek citizenship but lives full-time in the country, was also present on that night, according to reports.

Her brother has published an appeal on social media, saying the relatives has had "no news" regarding the teenager or the group she was with, who are also reported missing.

Officials from her country of origin say they are continuing to monitor the developments.
